Good amount of fresh snow overnight, still getting moderate snow showers 1C . Currently 9cm level snow. BBC app is a useful as a paper boat 🙄

Area of snow recently past just a few miles west on MBY. I can see the cloud! 😥 Reports of snow from parts of Liverpool and the western edge of Sintellins.

More convective activity bubbling up over the Irish Sea, so still chances this afternoon.

Just don't want too much as we're flying out of Manchester at daft o'clock in the morning

Be interesting to see what happens in the NW later. I suspect only higher ground is really at risk which ties in with the Met office warning for ice and temps modelled to be above freezing. But if there is more heavier precipitation than expected it could tip the balance for lower areas.

A mini-streamer seems to be setting up off the Irish Sea into Merseyside/SW Lancs/Cheshire. PEr the radar, the flow seems to be getting slightly more NW'ly than NNW'ly. If the trend continues, snow showers could even reach western parts of Manchester and into the North Midlands.

A mix of wet, small flakes and pellets (with a few blobs of rain in it)

Well that was fun.

Quickly became just snow (medium-sized flakes, light-moderate intensity) and left a vert light dusting. A bit of a gap until the next bit of PPN. What will that bring?

Some heavy echoes bubbling up and seemingly heading Wirral's way. Hopefully they'll deliver you snow. That last spell saw some rain in the mix to start and finish when the ppn was light; when it was heavier, it was pure snow. Hopefully it's dragged colder air down for the next batch, which I can see incoming to my north west.

My window in Liverpool faces NW and looks right up the river to the mouth of the Mersey. I can watch the showers developing nicely.

They do 'look' wet and not white though. Hopefully they'll turn over land, although I am hearing reports of rain, snow and hail mixed 😂
