Time for this I think. A smattering for some tomorrow, more for Northern Scotland. Let's hope we get a reasonable amount of reports over the coming days

FWIW we have a covering of snow here now on all surfaces. On the (untreated) roads where there was surface water there is now ice and rutted slush.

There may be more snow overnight however there is a chance it may be a cold wet wintry mix in the morning.

Here a few showers will come further inland through the night but flow is a little west of north and it's windy enough to be still a bit above freezing so slushy cover most likely.
Later tomorrow it ramps up a bit and could cause some problems.
Snowploughs been fitted to contractor tractors on stand by locally.

There's a period of pretty heavy snow here just now. No idea of the depth but everything is white.

There's a very interesting little feature currently in Moray and N Aberdeenshire near the coast bringing some intense precipitation and lightning. My guess would be thundersnow.

Apologies for the low quality image but my hands were cold, it was dark and I was on my phone. 😁

Settling on all surfaces here, just hope we get enough to cover as it should stay for a few days!

I've just woke up to discover that it is snowing here in the north of Edinburgh as I write, and that this snow is lying here as well.

Minimum temperature was down to -2.2°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and around -4°C at Edinburgh Airport, so last night was also our coldest night of this winter so far with what is already our third official air frost of the winter at Edinburgh Gogarbank and Edinburgh Airport (there has still been no data from the botanic gardens in Edinburgh since 4pm on 5 December 2022).

As it write, it is around -1°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

First snow of the winter here in Kinross lying on all surfaces. The showers seem to be coming from a more N/Easterly derection today compared to the straight Northerly we had yesterday .

Ended up with 1-2cm of powder on every surface. This is my outdoor tree and digital thermometer still reading -1.5 C

Snow clearing from the north now. Tree will look nice when the lights come on later

First snow of the winter here in my east coast location this morning, only a light covering around 1cm but it's more than the whole of last winter, Dec-Feb, brought, a few miles inland there was nothing...not a bad start, hopefully there's more to come...

Heavy snow showers brought the level depth up to 8cm by about 10am. Quite a workout clearing the paths and drive - it's not going to melt in a hurry!

Surprised by the snow lying in Fife/Tayside/Edinburgh. It never snowed on a northerly when I lived there. 😂😂😂

Great photos everyone.
