It's interesting that NYC is already seeing a very early taste of summer whilst the model output on this side of the Pond shows that there aren't even any signs of spring arriving here (despite the fact that we are only a week away from the start of the meteorological spring), and even has us being pushed further back into winter next week. At the same time though, this just shows what can happen after a SSW event with some parts getting really cold weather whilst other places actually get warmer, as a result of being on the warm side of the resulting blocking.
If I can remember rightly though, I can remember those same parts of America being under really deep snow not all that long ago whilst we were experiencing a really mild, wet and stormy winter so I suppose, the balance may well be about to be restored to a certain extent.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
