Just 1.8mm to add from a wintry shower overnight. Rain-shadowing from the Welsh Mountains probably keeping today dry here. A different story maybe if the winds vere more into the NW later?  Total now at 24.3mm.

In the end, 2.8 mm of rain was recorded during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 1.4 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, but that doesn't include whatever was the equivalent rainfall amount from yesterday's and last night's snow showers.

So far today, we have had just the one snow shower during this morning which would have probably carried a rainfall equivalent of no more than about 0.2 mm. Yet, there has been 0.6 mm of rain recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 3.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, which has to mostly be as a result of snow melt.

At Edinburgh Gogarbank, that now takes the total for this month so far to 40.0 mm, the total for this winter so far to 93.0 mm and the total for this year so far to 40.0 mm as at 1pm this afternoon.

At the botanic gardens, that now takes the total for this month so far to 36.2 mm, the total for this winter so far to 82.6 mm and the total for this year so far to 36.2 mm as at 1pm this afternoon.

If tonight's area of rain, sleet or snow misses us to the south as it might well do, this week might not end up being as wet as it was expected to be, especially with the rest of the working week and the first half of the weekend looking much drier. However, we are likely to get more rain on Sunday and beyond that, things look a lot more uncertain, but could well be rather unsettled.

This week hasn't quite been as unsettled here as it had been forecast to be but as at 9am this morning, a total of 0.8 of precipitation has fallen from some snow showers which were around earlier on this morning, along with 0.8 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

At Edinburgh Gogarbank, that now takes the total for this month so far to 41.0 mm, the total for this winter so far to 94.0 mm and the total for this year so far to 41.0 mm as at 9am this morning.

At the botanic gardens, that now takes the total for this month so far to 37.0 mm, the total for this winter so far to 83.4 mm and the total for this year so far to 37.0 mm as at 9am this morning.

Despite the forecast of further snow showers during today, I'm not expecting to see any significant rainfall totals until Sunday when we are likely to see some rain ahead of some milder air. Many forecasts then point it being more unsettled, but I have heard that being said so many times, only for it to then end up being not as wet as had been forecast that I will need to see that actually happening, before I can believe that.

That is a massive reduction from your previously posted total.

I have calculated though that since you mentioned that you have had 0.3mm of rain today so far, you actually meant to say 65.7mm to date, rather than the figure which you have just mentioned, so I will put this one down as a typo on your part.
