Yet, there has been 0.6 mm of rain recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 3.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, which has to mostly be as a result of snow melt.
At Edinburgh Gogarbank, that now takes the total for this month so far to 40.0 mm, the total for this winter so far to 93.0 mm and the total for this year so far to 40.0 mm as at 1pm this afternoon.

If tonight's area of rain, sleet or snow misses us to the south as it might well do, this week might not end up being as wet as it was expected to be, especially with the rest of the working week and the first half of the weekend looking much drier. However, we are likely to get more rain on Sunday and beyond that, things look a lot more uncertain, but could well be rather unsettled.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
