Orange warning for major storms to hit Cyprus and low maxes that I never seen before for tomorrow at 30C from Rik weather report online video at end of their Greek news.  I never see 30C being forecast tomorrow previous lowest was 32c after the storm in 25th August 1990 that dropped to 30C.  This seem more stronger and widespread that the coasts usually don't get rain will be hit too. Today Nicosia was 39.5c and tomorrow to drop to 30C which I am hoping to see 29C as a max as i never seen 29C in July or August before.  There was once did in early July 1992 after severe cold winter at 28.6C from the old Wunderground site.

Need to translate to English to read,  Exciting time to see the low maxes tomorrow really want to see 29C if can be possible, the clouds need to form early like it did in 1990 when it was 30C at 10.30am before it got cloudy and rain came at 11.15 to 23c and stayed 26-27C all afternoon under overcast skies until 5.30pm clearance.  That morning I was walking outside and seeing first 2 clouds forming in the west at 8.30am so that took 2 hours to cloud over.

It been a historic storm in Cyprus and far more stronger that here cannot compete due to weakness of rain type here and not powerful enough.  Temperatures was very cool to cold in places with the troodos area dropped to 7.9C which is a record cold for August while places around the lower parts drop to low to mid teens to high teens in Nicosia at 18.1c the lowest.  It wa s pity didn't drop to 29c due to warm night last night 23.5 and rose to 31.8c before late morning storms kicked in.  If last night was 20.5 then it would had been 29.1C today but missed chance.  2 ships sank by the coast, trees fell, flooded roads, hail reported, strong winds with some few small tornadoes.  No beaching in most of the coasts or picnic in Troodos today.  Rain was up to 90% cover the island which Paphos to the end tip missed out.

I wonder what the reaction from the tourists being stuck inside their hotels and not expected to see this over coastal areas in summer.

Meanwhile again rain in Troodos and same as yesterday which is surreal to see nearly every day rain in the mountains as if the mountain's climate changed to tropical type climate with daily rain and thundrestorms.

Though fascinating to watch, it is also very sad. What looks like a small family or local business, which they clearly took great pride in given how tidy and neat everything is kept, just destroyed is a shot.

Other news that Nicosia this month got almost every moring 0.1mm to .0.2mm of dew readings and Kita told me that due to very wet summer in the mountians the atmosphere over Cyprus is very moist.  Now for a week it going to be very cool and well below average so I think Cyprus heading for a colder wetter winter since 1992 if this going rate of cooling down rapidly early continue..  No heatwave this month for them just a bit above average at times but no 40C recorded this time.

Such a very unusual cool run for prolonged time and this doesn't happened at start of October often at the end with 25th often the switch to much cooler temperatues, normally 33-35c at the start of the month but this run give mid 20's.

Severe flooding in Thailand,  Southern India and Sri Lanka.   Perhaps linked to El Nino.

A Kelvin Wave promoted by El Nino is likely to raise sea levels off California by a foot or so, increasing the chances of more rapid coastal erosion this winter.
