What I find unusual is the fact the far south east and south in general has been colder than the central and western parts of UK including North west. For instance yesterday 33c was recorded in parts of North Devon, North Somerset and Bristol etc where as London was colder and today the temperature in London is 24c where as it's already 30c in the west country. - Why is this? As I type it is 21c in Brighton yet 30c in Swansea, Liverpool, Cardiff etc.
Usually it;s the south east that is very hot and breaks records not the west - why is this?
Another thing I notice. - Night-time temperatures a night or so back I was driving back from Torquay to Okehampton and at 0100am it was 14-15c between Torquay and Newton Abbot and then when I got to Okehampton (West Devon) it was 19-20c at 02:00am and felt very sticky
