Couldn't be more different down here! Partly cloudy with plenty of sunshine, a light SW'ly and 13.7 (dew 9.0), the high today being 14.2 earlier.

It did cloud over for a time with some brief light rain, but it didn't even tip the raingauge.

Some really good flashes and cracks of thunder, with it rumbling on constantly.  Not much rain though.

I can remember there being a crack of thunder here back in February though, so we actually had more thunderstorms during that winter than what we had last summer. I can see what you mean about that though in terms of it being much warmer down there.

Vile day No. 2. Sheets of persistent drizzle blowing in from the sea on a fresh NE wind. 7 C an expected high today 🤢 I'm heading further north into Highland Perthshire and don't expect to see any of it

Here in Edinburgh, overnight rain has been replaced by drizzly and foggy/misty conditions. It's yet another dull and dreary start to yet another day and our spring permacast hell goes on with no recorded sunshine at Edinburgh Gogarbank during this month so far.

As at 9am BST (08:00 UTC), the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 7°C with virtually no diurnal temperature range whatsoever.🤢😡

Light rain and drizzle has set in here yet again along with that east coast haar which continues to come in from off the North Sea as this wet and miserable spring in these parts goes on.☔

As at 3pm BST (14:00 UTC) this afternoon, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 8°C.

Cold and wet with (more) easterly garbage. Currently 6.1°C with moderate rain. 15mm of cold rain so far today. The next couple of days look vile too with more easterly muck.

Much the same as recent days, with a moist/sodden airstream, and moderate winds from the SW. The difference being it's milder at 11C though still 100% cloud cover.

Left the Edinburgh fog and drizzle behind yesterday and drove north to Dunkeld where we had a dry but cloudy day with good views for our hillwalk and 7 C

This morning's new rain band seems to be slowing down over the Central Belt. Fingers crossed we stay just to the north. Cold and cloudy would be ok

A horrendous start to today here in Edinburgh with thick fog (in the form of yet more easterly muck coming in from off the North Sea), rain and a cold wind from off the North Sea.

As I write, we are now into the third day of this month but our increasingly long wait for our first recorded sunshine of this month at Edinburgh Gogarbank goes on.🤢

As at 8:20am BST (07:20 UTC) this morning, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 7°C.

According to the latest radar map, there is some rain and drizzle covering a large part of eastern Scotland to the north of that rain band with even parts of NW Scotland getting some light showers.

There is a dry area over central and western Scotland but you will be really lucky if it somehow manages to stay completely dry where you are (although I hope it does of course).

The fog has now lifted here in Edinburgh but the rain has got heavier over the course of this morning although the heaviest rain has continued to stay just to our south for now.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 12 noon BST (11:00 UTC) remains stuck at around 7°C here in Edinburgh.
