I'm in Dunkeld, Perthshire and we have moderate snow settling everywhere. It's the heaviest snow I've seen all winter!! This is at 100m above sea level so the mountains will be getting a good covering
Where I am in NW Edinburgh, it's just heavy rain which has given us another 17.8 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank just since midnight and it's still raining as I write although that appears to be gradually easing off now.
It's quite a chilly morning though and at Edinburgh Gogarbank, the temperature dropped to just 1.6°C. This suggests that there could be some snow on high ground with possibly even a bit of sleet or wet snow in those higher parts of the south of Edinburgh (maybe Noodle Doodle might update us on that in your absence).
Without actually being able to see the Pentland Hills, I know that there appears to be a decent covering there because when I looked at this
webcam which you often like to link to in these situations (I can easily get to that from the link on Swanston weather station's website), everything looked very decidedly white.
Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh was around 4°C as at 7:30am BST (06:00 UTC) this morning.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
