Quite a few snow showers here today and looks like another heavy one is about to hit - gone very black to the north!

Indeed it is Rob. Some changes in the last couple of months as they gear up to reopen. Security barriers off the main road to vet the punters/holidaymakers going in and out but the slope is much the same probably as you remember. As are the lodges.

Went out walking this afternoon in sunshine at 6c but within minutes, we got caught in a squall with graupel that lasted about 15 minutes before turning to snow and temp dropped to 1.9c.  It went white over very quickly but went just as quick when the sun came out.

Upper air is stunningly cold.
Moderate snow shower has dropped temp to 0.0c and it has settled on raised surfaces , plants and a bit on lawn. Sun now out again.

Well I have to say from 40+ years of weather watching, I don't think I've ever seen conditions like this before in April.  Just recently quite a sharp blustery snow shower came through, but with the dry snowflakes blowing across the ground as if it was mid-Winter!   Temp currently 5C.

Normally it's a struggle to even get wet snow here in April - the last time was very briefly in 2016, but the last proper April snow here was way back in 2008.

Heavy snow shower with another coming along. A good covering on favoured surfaces possibly close to half an inch on the decking with the grass disappearing

Just had a heavy snow shower move through, temperature has dropped to 0.4c despite the sun shining again now. Quite remarkable to have temperatures of 0c in April during the day with the strong sun out also!

We apparently had a slightly heavier shower here earlier (I was out freezing my bits off on the bike and missed it) which briefly started settling on the decking and grass. There were certainly a few showers dotted about when I was out and about but happily from a riding point of view I dodged them

Right at this moment it is snowing more heavily here in the Upper Thames Valley than at any time I witnessed during the last winter

A good dusting has now settled on the grass.

Snow shower here this evening left a covering. I'd now put this day down as one of the best for years due to the variety of weather, cloudscapes and the evening snow which fell heavily and settled.

Not seen a lot here - just 1-2cm compared to 5-6cm in 2012 and 2015.

It's that vile wind again - blows the showers through too quickly.  Need slow moving showers to merge and give a more prolonged period of snow as otherwise it just melts in the sun.

That said the thin coverings have survived till late morning, even early afternoon in more shaded parts, whereas in April 2016 it melted almost as soon as the sun came out.
