Same as above in North Northumberland, a little settled snow, very windy, horizontal snow blizzards for a time this afternoon, with temps down to 1 C. Over 10mm rainfall. No snow falling at present, but negative dewpoint preventing a thaw.First significant of winter.

After a bright start to this morning, it is now snowing here in Edinburgh once again as I write.

That snow isn't lying here in the north of Edinburgh but there is plenty of snow on the Pentlands which have been looking very white indeed, whenever the visibility has been good enough for me to be able to actually see them in the distance.

That snow shower has quickly passed through, and the Sun is now back out.

Here in Edinburgh, it is snowing quite heavily once again despite the forecasts telling us that we were supposing to be going into a transient ridge of high pressure during today ahead of tomorrow's main event.

That clearly hasn't happened and so, this has come rather unexpectedly here even though this snow isn't actually lying here in the north of Edinburgh.

I’m not at home but I see Glossop was brought to a standstill at rush hour this morning. 1cm of snow was enough to turn the roads into ice rinks. Multiple accidents and stuck cars as it’s so hilly round here.

Drove up to Edinburgh this morning. A couple of snow flurries in N Yorks and Northumberland. The Pennines and southern Uplands very white. A heavy snow shower as I approached Edinburgh, settling well. A good 2" at Fairmilehead, possibly some of this from the last few days. Down at Blackford there was a new but slushy cm of snow. The big white CuNimbs are now decaying but look great behind the brilliant white Pentland Hills

Not surprised by the volume lying there.  The Rain that arrived last night was very intense.  I dont think the gutters could cope, as the rain was gushing onto my windowsill outside.  Had that been snow, a good 10cm would be lying after an hour.  Torrential.

Finally snowed here for the first time since 16th March 2019. Massive flakes in the shower which is ongoing giving a slight accumulation which will quickly melt once it stops.

Classic transient snowfall. Usually you’d expect at least one  even in a poor winter.

Pentlands started to get re-speckled on top of the small patches remaining from 2 weeks ago

Heavy snow showers on and off here all day, and some thundersnow again around lunchtime

Update: Had a heavy snow shower which started to lie, then partially melted, but then a great big hail shower coated everything white and now it's snowing lightly on top.

Showers increasingly of wet snow through the afternoon but have probably just had the last one.
It has been outrageously windy again but that's easing slowly now.
