A real surprise today. We had a good hour of decent snow falling providing a slight covering over everything. Was not expecting anything. Still laying on top of cars and grass.

Came home tonight from band rehearsal at Paulton to find snow on the grass in Peasedow, at least I saw it.

As we were here.
1.9c with hail/snow showers and slushy deposits.

I know people bash the Met Office app but I find it the best way to determine whether we will see meaningful snow, avoiding disappointment. It has consistantly showed temps at 2-3c for here at 200m at the lowest. Forget the symbols and just look at the temperature. I need to see 0c to 1c at for proper lying snow. Been plenty of cold zonality episodes over the last few years where temps have been lower and we have had some snow.
Sure the App might not predict some really heavy precipitation today/tonight knocking the temp to 0c but it will rise again afterwards to 2c even at night melting anything as the air isnt cold enough.

Non of the high res models show any snow here either . That us why i am suprised that the Met Office warnings talk of snow above 150m. It is faith in these warnings which is why lots of people posting elsewhere seem disappointed.

Fairly frequent snow showers here since yesterday afternoon. Not amounting to very much as they were never terribly heavy or prolonged but enough to cover prone surfaces, though not quite enough to fully cover the grass. Snowing again at the moment so that's two days with snow falling - two more than I thought that I would see this year this time last week.

The Moor is white down to 200m now and we have had temporary slushy deposits down in the town. Frequent showers of soft hail that turn to snowflakes at the end....then sunshine. Always the next CuNimb with hail shafts visible on the western horizon. Love days like these
