Predominantly fine weather is expected in the coming days but the north remains more changeable at times. Exceptional levels of heat are building in southern Europe.
Wednesday begins with patchy rain in the north west but elsewhere it is dry. During the rest of the day sunny spells develop across much of the UK but it will be cloudy at times. The far north west has quite a breezy day with the likelihood of showery rain.
Temperatures range from about 16C (61F) in the north west to a very warm 26C (78F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.
Tonight outbreaks of rain push into the west. Central and eastern Britain remain dry and warm.
Tomorrow a band of cloud pushes eastwards bringing some rain to the north and west. The south stays mostly dry with variable amounts of cloud. Cooler and showery conditions follow into the north.
Friday and the weekend are set to be mostly fine in much of the UK. Temperatures will be rising and by Sunday there is chance of 30C (86F) being hit in the south. In the far north a more changeable picture is expected.
Early next week cooler conditions steadily return from the west, but the southern half of the UK can expect a good deal of fine weather. Buzz looks at the weekend warmth.
