[Updated 7:55 09/06/2017]

Fair weather

Wet weather in the next couple of days will be focused on central and northern areas. Next week it should become more settled from the south.

Friday begins with showers in western England and Wales, and more persistent outbreaks of rain are affecting parts of Scotland. During the course of the day the showers transfer to the east and it gradually becomes drier in Scotland. Sunny spells develop quite widely but it will be breezy.

Temperatures range from about 15C (59F) in the north to 21C (70F) in the south east. See the rainfall radar and UK weather report map for the latest.

Tonight wet and windy weather spreads northeastwards across much of the UK. Southern counties probably remain mostly dry.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain continue in northern England, Wales and the south west. To the north a bright and showery day develops. To the south east it remains mostly dry and warm. On Sunday heavy showers are likely in the north but the south should be dry with warm sunny spells. Buzz looks at the change in the weather which is forecast for next week.
