A change to colder weather will take place in the next 24 hours as Arctic air sweeps southwards. Temperatures range from a 5C (41F) in the north to 15C (59F) on the south coast. In the north the chill will be exacerbated by a strong northwesterly wind. See the radar for the latest view.
Tonight clears periods lead to plunging temperatures and a frost in sheltered areas. Wintry showers continue to affect the north and eastern coastal counties.
Tomorrow showers become widespread and heavy. They bring a wintry mix to the south, and in the north many fall as snow. Temperatures could reach 12C (54F) but they plunge when the showers turn up.
