Wednesday begins frosty across central and eastern England with temperatures locally below 0C (32F). In the north and west cloudier skies have kept it less cold.
Through the day patchy spells of rain push southwards into northern England and northern Wales. Wet weather also spreads into Northern Ireland and western Scotland, but elsewhere it stays dry. Cloud amounts vary with the best of the sunshine in the south.
Temperatures generally range from about 12C (54F) to 15C (59F), but cloudier parts of northern England will be colder. See the radar for the latest view.
Tonight clear skies lead to a frost in rural parts of the south east, but elsewhere cloud should hold up temperatures. Light outbreaks of rain are likely in the west.
Tomorrow wet weather pushes into the north west. Across the southern half of the UK a band of showery rain fades away to leave dry and increasingly bright conditions.
On Friday rain affects Scotland. Elsewhere it remains dry and in sunny spells it will feel pleasant.
The weekend looks mostly dry, but the east may be cooler and showery. Early next a late season Arctic blast could bring a risk of snow to the north. Buzz investigates the short term frost risk.
