Sunny spells developing

[Updated 08:15 30/03/2017]

Spring sunshine

Friday begins with wet in the north west of the UK. Elsewhere it's overcast and in central areas there is fragmented band of rain.

This morning it becomes mostly dry across England and the cloud begins to break. The rain in Northern Ireland and western Scotland moves northwestwards and gradually clears away. This afternoon most of the country has dry and bright weather, but showery rain pushes into Wales.

Temperatures range from about 7C (45F) in northern Scotland to 16C (61F) in East Anglia where it will feel quite warm again. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight patchy spells of rain affect the north and west. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry.

Tomorrow showers spread eastwards across all regions but there will be dry and sunny spells too. On Sunday dry conditions return to all areas. Temperatures through the weekend will be reasonable for the time of the year. Next week high pressure brings more settled weather but it could become colder late on.

Outdoor season

The outdoor season is here again. In the short term there's the new F1 season, the Grand National and the Boat Races on the Thames in London. Our summer Event weather calendar is being updated and if you'd like something added please contact us.
