Calm and clear here this morning - a big contrast to yesterday!

Yesterday morning, the squall passed through here at 9:20am and left fallen branches and broken fence panels in its wake. My stations wind speed graph looks very similar to the one for Sheerness Yacht Club above although I only recorded 55mph.
“You may kill an artist or a thinker, but you cannot acquire his art or his thought. You may put a man to death because he loves his fellow-men, but you will not by so doing acquire the love which made his happiness. Force is impotent in such matters; it is only as regards material goods that it is effective. For this reason the men who believe in force are the men whose thoughts and desires are preoccupied with material goods.“ — Bertrand Russell

Another beautiful day in Edinburgh. Lot's of blue sky and strong sunlight. Still a wee bit chilly in the shade but I've been out in the garden for a few hours. 13 C Max ☀️

Can't really complain to much. A little breezy still but dry with lots of sunshine.

Managed 17.2C

Edit: wouldn't be surprised if this area is the UK hot spot again today.

A chilly start to this morning here in Edinburgh where we have finally just had our first ground frost of this entire month although we still haven't had any actual air frosts here during this month so far.

It's also a fairly bright start to this morning but with a lot of high to medium level cloud cover.

As at 7:30am BST (06:30 UTC) this morning, the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 3.7°C.

Only a little further inland (or is it further east with a shorter sea track?) and my garden thermometer reads 19C. That's in a non-standard but shaded location; however I see Otterbourne Waterworks, which is an official site, near but inland from Southampton is recording 14C.

Another very pleasant day today - dry, of course, with good spells of sunshine and cumulus clouds drifting across. It's 14.0, dew 4.0, with a high so far of 14.3. The overnight low was 5.2, so pretty much bang-on average for the time of year.

Another day, more rain.

Even yesterday, which was supposed to be dry, had a couple of beefy showers.
