I'd "bank" it - a max of 54mph gusts here, which is bearable. Similarly the 6z GFS had a max of 52, which is well down on recent runs.
I've a feeling it'll only go up from here, as both models have much higher winds only 40 miles away. And MetO still has 57, unusually still the highest of them all.
Incidentally re: Scilly, I'm not sure what's worse - the MetO raw for Bude, now forecasting 38 to 83 (and winds in the 80 for 6 hours), or 51 to 79 as is shown in the forecast for St Mary's. The reason being it's the delta between the background wind speed and the gusts which causes the damage, and a 45 mph delta (as per Bude) is much larger than the 28 mph one shown for St Mary's...
Neither would be fun to be around, mind you, and I suspect there will be widespread power cuts reported by Sunday morning.
