Some high cloud also beginning to drift up from the south.

First real summers day here. Clear blue sky and up to 23.6C this afternoon although still a strong breeze which is now pleasant as opposed to chilling.

It's been consistent highs of around 20-23deg over the last 5 weeks here on the Dorset coast in Poole. It's been fantastic, but with rather cool evenings and mornings. It's very very dry. I don't think we've had any precipitation since May 6th! Very rare for such a sustained period of North Easterlies too. Amazing really.
However, there has been a very noticeable shift today in the humidity and temperature increases as the winds have changed. I'm currently measuring 29deg.  Long may it continue, but with perhaps a little more rain.

Further west than you but much the same weather. May the 19th was the last rain but very heavy with local flooding. Since then dry and what of course as if I need to hammer it in, could have been a remarkable cold spell in January with penetrating frost.

A cold day today. 16 C Max but it's the now permanent NE wind making it feel cold despite the sunshine.
Hopefully we'll get up to 21 C this weekend but I'm aware of the North Sea crap lurking offshore 🤔

In the end, a total of 11.32 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

However, today's maximum temperature was just 17.48°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank and just 16.0°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as the temperatures refused to rise any further from 11am this morning onwards, as a result of that cool wind from off the North Sea.😡

Meanwhile, the temperature as at 10pm BST (21:00 UTC) tonight was around 11°C here in Edinburgh.

Just missed 30C today with 29.8C the max as far as I can see.

An interesting tweet showing the progression of “warmest days of the year”. After mid Feb it took until the end of March before the previous warmest was bettered!

Sounds awful, commiserations.

14.4C here under clear blue skies, the low so far being 14.3C (a degree up on yesterday).

The models all have a dry day here with an onshore breeze, but there's still quite a disparity between them: anything from 21C (MetO) to 28C (ECM).

I would have thought 22 or 23 would be more realistic, I just can't see it being too hot with an onshore breeze from a sea that's around 15C.

Yep, pleasing there is no low cloud.  Clear all the way to the coast, though South Yorks/East Midlands has low cloud.

Just for a change, we actually have a bright and sunny start to today here in Edinburgh, following on from what was our first clear night for a very long time.

This resulted in last night being cooler than of late though with an overnight minimum temperature of only 6.71°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Meanwhile, the temperature at 8am BST (07:00 UTC) this morning was around 12°C here in Edinburgh.

20.3c and clear. A cool start plus an easterly wind are meaning temps aren't anything special so far but the Easterly influence should reduce and temp climb rapidly this afternoon .

We've reached 15 C by noon. No heatwave here if we don't lose this 14-day nagging NE wind. If only it was winter, we'd be buried 😄
I'm hoping like Tim that we'll pick up a more gentle S or SE wind later today/overnight

The rain showing on the radar to the south of here is doing what it normally does in these situations. Peter out as it approaches.
Still there's a chance tomorrow of some rain. Could do with it but I'm not expecting much.
Very warm, humid and cloudy though and the wind's more or less dropped to F1 or calm.
