It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :)
Further snow has brought the depth here to 5cm. Not snowing now but very misty. The radar suggests more to come upwind of here but you can never truly be certain of that.
But really, it's a veritable winter wonderland out there at the moment, every tree, every branch, every twig covered. I just love these snow events with little or no wind.

Sorry to hear that, hope you get off soon. Are you going somewhere you would be expecting more or less snow than here?

Here is a good view of the current situation here in central Edinburgh this morning.

EDIT

There are also some other videos on that same YouTube channel if you would like to see some more of that.

You have to be vary of where to find those videos though because videos which were recorded as live streams are now shown up separately on each YouTube channel from other videos and in this particular case, there are some interesting videos from this morning under both categories (as an example, the one which I have linked to was uploaded as a short live stream of only around 7 minutes in length. There are another couple of short live streams in there as well, in addition to a few normal videos.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Can’t believe we can’t cope with a few cm of snow for big logistical sites like airports. Its not like it was a total surprise coming. But all comes down to not enough staff, investment for one-off events and too high expectation for the Amazon culture travelling public.

Saint, don't take this the wrong way, but....... LOL!!!

I hope you get away soon, but it is funny that not only are you missing the only snow you've had there in the last 273 years, but it's delayed your flight too

Lol Matty. 😂

We have a light dusting in the city centre but looking at the radar some parts have absolutely copped it, towards Cheshire. Manchester Airport has a pitiful amount of snow, a bit pathetic that there's disruption to be honest.

The radar looks quite lively still, I'm hoping we'll see a bit more through the day.

Have you noticed a compact little storm area between Norfolk and Holland?

Here in the south of Edinburgh we had 2 inches of snow in an hour at 8am....an intense rate. We are up to 0.9 C now with a slight thaw as the less cold air comes down from the north

I'm worried that the next lot will be all rain. It's 3 C in Fife and Stirling now ☹️

Already sat on plane nearly an hour waiting for the de-icing truck, which made us miss the window before runway closure.

Sorry to hear that. Classic sods law and careful what you wish for I guess! Hopefully you'll get away soon as the temp rises a degree or two.

The b*stards have cancelled the flight (and many others)

Lazy, incompetent twunts couldn't keep the runway clear of 2cm of snow.

Luckily had the foresight, as soon as they began to announce it, to book on the later flight. Others took their time to think it through and missed out on the few seats left. But, like, dog eat dog.

The tossers might have cleared the runway by 16.55...

Probably try to wriggle out of compo, too.

Heavy wet snow here in Okehampton followed by Sleet on and off for x2 hours now - nothing really settling but some huge wet flakes thrown in!

Same happened to my brother yesterday trying to fly from Dublin. Loads of flights cancelled due to issue with de-icing planes

Yeh I'd rather nothing than a load of rain that'll melt the snow and then freeze - Leuchars up to 4c now

Pretty disappointing here. After a few days of Minus 5 / 6 lows last night was a damp +0.5 degrees. Precipitation seemed to hit a brick wall East of Manchester.

All looked good to start snowing just after midnight but it just kept fizzling. We managed a partial dusting at 9am when some heavier stuff finally came. Melting in places now.

Temp is 0.9C now. Today could have been a 10cm fall if the steamer had made it here properly at midnight. Next!

We ended up with about 3 or 4cm here that covered everything. Very icy underneath so cars got stuck on the lane just up from us.Very slow thaw now with freezing level at about 300m judging by the trees on the Quantocks which are still sparkly white towards the tops.
