GFS 6Z has just 3mm here to 288 hours.
Doesn't look like any sign of rain yet, all depends whether some showers develop, currently developing quite a bit North of here.

Trees and bushes in my work car park had gone halfway yellow and some leaves on the ground. Likely not going back to green or new leaves come out when the rain come.

Ironic as there will be flash flooding in London today, I doubt many will comply

If there’s flash flooding they probably won’t need to use hosepipes on their gardens anyway.

Yes, as I posted on The convection thread yesterday and it shows how localised the rain was, as that’s only 8 miles north of us.  We got rain, with some heavy bursts but not enough to flood us!  We had puddles though!

That is incredible, so overall in Summer they may now have had close to average rainfall.

3.5mm here overnight, monthly total 5mm.

Technically I suppose we've broken the drought in this part of Dorset with a damping of light/almost trace rain yesterday. A few miles to the west around Bridport there were  flash floods.  But here near Dorchester we're in the sweet spot to avoid the rain. Heavy thundery showers are forecast for today but they fizzle out before reaching here. Even the ones currently showing on the radar to the east in the Channel are thinking twice about attacking the County from the east.

Looks like a crazy local event in that area, several PWS recording between 3-5 inches of rain, with rainfall rates of over half an inch in 5 minutes in places!

Despite the forecast for rain all day today, we’ve not had a drop.  But we did get a soaking last night and it was preceded by light steady rain that wet the ground, so a lot of the heavier stuff soaked in.

Since I posted that it looks like things have been quite damp back home. Blackbushe now reporting 40mm for the day and a bit of flooding of the runways.
Local FB group suggests quite a bit of surface water flooding round Yateley and water pouring through the roof of the big Tesco down the road.

Think there’s a chance this August could end up drier than 1995 locally. 6mm so far.
