N of Andover, looks like it's been non-stop boom and flash.

Very anticlimactic here after all the rumbling, we got not even enough rain to wet the ground and no light show. And that looks to be it as it’s all pushed off west.

So frustrating. I really need the air to clear. It doesn’t look like anymore storms are forecast to KO either. So another 24hrs of no sleep lol

Lots of rumbling all around here in SE Glos. but no lightning seen.

First cell seems to have shimmied past me to the south as not a drop of rain has yet fallen here.

At least we enjoyed the heatwave and now 3rd year on the run of over 35C here so might be a new norm? 32C was the normal high in the 80's and 33C in the 90's and 00's.  I see some towering Cu here but so hard to see with hazy atmosphere and look bluish as if blue skies there.

Sudden very strong outflow gust - blowing leaves around like it's autumn.

Very dark sky to my SE.

But rumbling has stopped.

And still no rain.

Looking at the rain radar it looks like most of the rain/thunder has pushed off well to west of London. Also, perhaps a fresh batch pushing across the channel in the next couple of hours.

Very broad amber thunderstorm warning just issued by Met Office. It extends from my location westwards and then northwards, covering much of Wales in the process.

Now there's an inky black sky to my east and a few flickerings.

And a very strong gusty wind.

A few large blobs of rain evaporating instantly on contact with the ground.

Edit: Torrential rain now and frequent lightning flickering but only distant booming thunder.

Nothing here as well, though I watched the storm over SW London passing. Actually could smell the rain!

But we may get hammered later so garage will get flooded overnight.

Gutters now totally overflowing so looking out through a waterfall.

Frequent flickering and a few massive close strikes.

The sound of rain is drowning out the background rumbling thunder.

Almost dark.

Proper storm.

There's one bubbled up south of here over Cheshire. Can here frequent rumbles with some flashes.

Will it survive the crossing or be picked up by the new Border Patrol?

Interesting to see currently on XCweather the hole (now fading) in the heat map across Southern England caused by the storms.

I can vouch for the gusts shown for Gloucestershire sites on the Wind tab - I had the study window open and it blew all the papers off my desk.
