I've felt just like that during snowfall situations

At least you SE-erners had a nice July

Well that storm over Stoke must be like an extinction level event to anyone under it.
A rough estimate is 80 strikes a minute just now!

Stars (and meteors!) visible through thin high cloud, but there is regular flashing visible from distant storms. Can’t tell which direction but looks vaguely westerly.

Can see distant flickering over the French coast by an active cell that seems to be reluctant to make the Channel crossing.

Well all that stuff moving up from France seems to have faded into the faintest of blue echoes on the radar that don’t even seem to be reaching the ground.

We have left over clag from some french storms. MetOfffice predictor radar and forecast really doesn’t show much likely to to happen in this part of the world.

Really irritating. Let’s see what happens

Another bust in my area, a few distant rumbles of thunder yesterday morning was all that was on offer. Looks like another hot one today.

So the wait for a storm continues down here in Kent. We have had to endure the highest temperatures but with none of the pyrotechnics.

Watch the Wigan storm devlop yesterday afternoon, clouds really took off. Develpment starts around 2.37 into video. Lot of low growling thunder could be heard.

Notice about 10.15pm last evening, the breeze suddenly got up and it coincide with this feature passing overhead on my timelapse. Note how still the tree is behind the detach house on right and how it suddenly starts to shake.

As ever is the case. A band of storms erupted north of London in to East Anglia. Obviously when it passed through he we just had some nuisance value rain.
