Looks like quite a significant event developing.

Still waiting for a thunderstorm this year. Today's offering was over the Poole area and north of Dorchester. Just a little light rain not even measurable here.

A poor nights sleep, the storms were literally all night long, coming & going, torrential rain and lightning flashing, very loud thunder
Woken up to a very misty morning. So humid too

Didn't hear thunder overnight but there was a lot of flashing of lightning going on.

Horrible left over clag here near the Thames this morning. What a dreadful attempt at some storms.

Perhaps we might get some today. Perhaps not. I can’t see it.

HP postcode to my brother area Letchworth SG postcode had been very active with storms but why the clags with November weather are among the rest of us? Not normal for storms and clags together, should be clear skies in between storms.

Now cold and windy here and windows remain shut again today to keep the residue heat from 2 days ago to keep me warm.

We seem to be in the quiet zone again at the moment and they really are hit and miss. Looking ahead for us on Sunday, from 6pm could offer something that evening.

You were unlucky as the first storm developed over lyndhurst and spread to the bournemouth Poole area and we caught the edge of it . An hour later and another storm Developed near Eastleigh and hit us bang on.

just grey clag and drizzle here top and after no storms! Cool too. Can't see what's going to trigger convection today unless the sun breaks through and lifts temperatures

A frustrating few days here too.

Wednesday nights storms stayed in the channel to my south decaying as they moved westwards, yesterdays thunderstorms were all west of here. Last nights impressive lightning display on the northern horizon was 100 miles away towards Essex.

The way that lot came in from the north sea, I thought it had our name on it. Apart from seeing one fork, hearing a few rumbles it seemed to anchor down off the Clacton coast until it died away.

Just welcoming a bit of relief comfortwise in the relative coolness. Garden could do with a good dousing and was hoping/expecting one by now. Again, pinning hopes on some appreciable rain for a few hours Sunday evening. May even get some action if it isn’t as shy as this lot!

Well, it was close but no cigar this morning. Managed the North Sea, but decided to visit Great Yarmouth instead. Still, the fog cleared as it neared so that’s good, as it was foggy most of yesterday.

No convection across the SE today despite the BBC forecast at 130 pm grey and cool sums it up after early drizzle. Need some warm sun for any showers to get going today

Highly recommend having a read/following him on Twitter.

All this information yet it was not right as the lines of storms never really formed.

 This is his comment today.

Quick Update, Significant convection has not materialised and the cloud has been very slow to break up. Well surely that is an important part and should have been allowed for. Not saying i could do any better but it shows the limitations even 24 hrs out with all the model info.

Would love to see a professional write up of the SE Scotland storms on Wednesday night. 20,000 strikes! Constant feeder cells formed in a small area of the Borders and moved north into the boiling mass covering the Lothians, Fife, Perthshire and Aberdeenshire. 11hrs of frequent lightning in Edinburgh area. Severity never been seen before here
