PS - I'd quite like us both to be challenging for the title!  Certainly be happy if we both got a top 4 spot. Not least because that'd mean some of the moneybags/plastic clubs missing out despite spending fortunes on new shiny baubles every year.

The table doesn't lie and I think the teams currently battling it out for the top four will be there at the end of the season; it will simply be a question of who finishes where.

Conte is a good manager and will eventually come good with the Chavs. However, it's too much to expect him to polish the turd he has inherited with the current squad. I see no reason to revise my opinion of last season that the only player I'd take out of that shower of shi.te is willian. A very gifted player indeed.

As for Salford., I don't worry about them. Pogba has yet to get started and even when he does he can't be expected to carry the mediocrity he's surrounded with. For all the money United have spent it has proven to be a pretty poor return. I see little likelihood of that changing anytime soon.

Leicester were indeed poor. Wes Morgan seems to have turned into a statue.

Atkinson putting in a magnificant performance in the Palace Wet Spam game.

Cresswell given a yellow for diving when he probably should have been awarded a penalty.

Cresswell given a second yellow for a foul that was hardly a foul at all.

Has Cresswell been shagging Atkinson's wife/daughter or something?

Talking of red cards

Xhaka was treated very harshly by the blind John Moss

A blatant, cynical attempt to trip him up: absolutely no attempt to play the ball. A professional foul of the worst kind. I thought a red card was a touch harsh but not unreasonable.

Its a new rule that has come in this season...trouble I have with that is I have seen 2 or 3 similar incidents this season and resulted in a yellow................one of them at Chelsea

Have to agree with you - the epitome of petulant cynicism.

Still, the arses clung on, when that late onslaught could easily have got Swansea a deserved point.

Citeh dropped another 2 points; Sperms likewise.

If we can win tomorrow (and I have huge worries) then we'll have been the big beneficiaries alongside arsenal.

My argument though is where is the consistency with the refs ...bugger all .

I watch a players shirt get pulled on the half way line and no booking..............why is that any different?

I'm hoping for the 'pool to win about 15-0 tomorrow

You and most other footy fans

Trouble is, the world and his dog have us as favourites - and, as a Liverpool supporter for along time, know that when we're favourites, we usually find some way to bugger it up. Coupled with our innate ability to pull an absolute stinker of a non-performance out the bag once in a while, I'm really not confident. I foresee them nicking a winner - probably through Ibrahimovich, who's really surprised me in doing as well as he has (I thought he'd really struggle to adapt to the English game, especially at 34; was hoping he'd be another Shevchenko)

I really enjoyed the game from a tactical point of view. Mourinho got it spot on really - I was amazed the first 30 minutes the pressing game we played. Just a shame we didn't capitalise on the early dominance.

And, ultimately, despite him and immediate predecessors net-spending around £half-a-billion in 3 years, he's got his 'keeper to be thankful for, because only a few Premier League goalies could have pulled off both the saves from Can and Coutinho.

Amusing to note how pleased the Man U fans were with this result, despite it kinda rubbishing the Man U myth that, win, lose or draw, the fans only want adventurous football in the 'United way'. I hope they enjoy being 'the new Chelsea'. And Liverpool should take it as a compliment that by deploying Maureen's 'anti-football' gameplan, Man U are effectively conceding we're the better team before a ball is kicked.

Did you watch the game? This is a load of bollocks! We played an intense pressing game high up the pitch for a lot of the time!

I think you're in the minority, and the euphoria of gaining a point at Anfield is blinding you. Reports in a variety of newspapers & websites talk directly of your lot 'parking the bus' and 'playing long balls'. The fact that Man U's paltry 35% possession was your lowest ever since OPTA began recording stats tends to bear this out.

By the way, I'm not criticising the tactic. Playing for a draw with a defensive mindset is a legitimate gameplan, especially away against better attacking sides.

Why trust the journalists rather than the stats? I know United seem to drive you mad with jealousy - but the truth is there to see in the stats from the game. The football was played in the middle of the park, there was no parking the bus, unless a high energy pressing game in the middle is now classed as 'parking the bus!'

Yes, I watched the game, and thought your press, which was higher up the pitch at first, retreated more and more as the game wore on.
