We did, Liverpool improved a lot later in the second half after being the poorer team in the first.

My two p's worth.....

I actually thought the press were harsh on Utd, it was almost like the first half was forgotten when they were by far the better team. The second half, we picked it up, especially when Lallana came on. As an aside, I do feel that was one of, if not the final nail in Studge's Liverpool career under Klopp. There's no doubt he is an excellent finisher but just doesn't offer what Klopp wants from a striker. I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone in Jan.

The good thing now is that we do not have another game against a 'top' side until NYE with what should be six/seven winnable games on paper. Let's hope no Burnley results enter the fray.

Totally agree with this, which is why I find it decidedly odd that Spurs is being mentioned as one of Sturridge's possible destinations.

I assume it is nothing more than lazy journalism because Sturridge wouldn't fit Pochettino's sytem either.

Well one thing's for sure; Sissoko is heading for a ban for elbowing Arter.

Quite how the ref and linesman missed it is beyond me; although saying that, Arter gave the thumbs up after he was spoken to.

Results largely went our way yesterday. We battered West Brom but they pulled a soft goal back late on and I expected to then concede an equaliser. Gotta laugh at Everton.

Now just need Citeh to drop points against Soton, whilst the Chavs and scum draw on Monday.

Chelsea win 4-0 to go above Spurs into 4th place.  Excellent performance, from kick off through to the end.

Remarkably tight at the top now.

Don't know why I had it in my mind that they were playing Monday

Still, whilst I have no fondness for that plastic, Russian-crook-owned club, seeing the scummy twunts walloped always raises a smile. Especially with that sour-faced, Liverpool-hating turd managing them.

Just 1 point now separates the top 5.

To be fair, Man U have assembled that squad on a shoestring.

That's why I questioned the " excellence" of Chelsea ................Man U had more of the ball , more corners , more shots at goal but defended like school boys....................I couldn't see anything of excellent in Chelsea................Man U  were just  bad when in their own half.

Almost as dreadful a purchase...so far.....as Shiteh splashing out for John Stones.

To be fair, Stones has been very good for them this season. You can't write a player off for one mistake, no matter how funny said mistake was.

What's interesting is that Guardiola's tactical set-up seems to have been found out so quickly. OK, so he's not got the same quality player as he had at Barca (who were schooled in that playing style from an early age), but how they're struggling to dominate teams is surprising. Still favourites for the title, but it'll be interesting to see how he adapts (or if he's too pig-headed & sticks to his footballing principles)

A shame Edwards won't be getting a run out against the Dippers (he would have been playing) in the League Cup but for injury.

Pochettino is right, he really is a special little (emphasis on little) player; certainly the best (so far) I've seen coming through the ranks at that age at Spurs.

He didn't do too badly at Bayern Munich and he didn't have the Barca structure there either.

As with ManU on Sunday, as a manager there's not much you can do about unexpected errors.  I recall Barca's defence being suspect but the rest of the side was so strong that it seldom mattered.

I would say that the Bundesliga is a) less competitive (BM are rarely challenged in the league); and b) less frenetic than the PL.

He's a very good manager for sure, but does he have the tactical breadth and flexibility? Time will tell, I guess. He's got the best squad in the league on paper, so no excuses.

Very few 1st choice 1st teamers on show at anfield tonight. But our fringe/reserve/youth players were a bit better than yours, it would seem. Like Lawro said though, I doubt you Sperms will be overly bothered with the result.

What's the odds that we draw Rafa-managed Newcastle in the QF?
