What's the odds that we draw Rafa-managed Newcastle in the QF?

He's a very good manager for sure, but does he have the tactical breadth and flexibility? Time will tell, I guess. He's got the best squad in the league on paper, so no excuses.

I agree the German league isn't as strong but that's less true of the Spanish one.  But the Champions League is a better measure and he did well with both clubs.

Moyes must be heading for the sack.

I've seen some mentally weak teams in my time but this Sunderland outfit has few if any peers.

Scousers were good tonight. Fair play to Palace for sticking in there....

But we have no defence. I never liked Pardew. An arrogant prick. At least Pulis built a solid defensive outfit. Not very exiting to watch, but a team that would stay in the premier league

We hardly have a watertight defence, too. But we do generally look good going forwards. Saw this game as a big banana skin, so glad to get the 3 points. We keep on the shoulders of city & arsenal.

Meanwhile, Sperms drop unexpected points & I hope Chavski do to against an improving Southampton.

Then, as Man U continue to flounder around, Maureen's slow meltdown increases pace  Wonder how much more money he'll throw at the problem in January, summer, etc....?

So what of Spurs recent form? Three successive league draws, a draw in Levercussen and defeat in the reserves match with Liverpool! Yes, we were unlucky to hit the woodwork twice yesterday but that spark and pace from earlier in the season just hasn't been there in recent weeks. Oh well, Wembley here we come, let's see if I can improve on my 0-8 record at Wembley and other key semi-finals or finals. My luck has to change sometime soon!

Apparently a bid of £135 million is being readied for Suarez. More chump change regarding United's strained transfer budget.

Another good performance by Chelsea and two very good goals. 4th place and only a point off the pace now.

3 tricky matches in November though.

I don't think Suarez would go there. Not because of any sense of loyalty to Liverpool (although he does still visit there, and seems to genuinely have an attachment; and no he's not looking for his missing car stereo). But because he moved to spain to live near his in-laws after pressure from his missus, and that hasn't changed. Besides, Barca love him and are reported to have a new contract on the table for him.

A huge amount for a 29 year old (isn't that typical of both utd and Maureen?) but don't see it coming off.

Yeah, good result. Conte seems a decent sort* - far too nice for your lot.

I dunno, I wouldn't call united's best performance since SAF floundering around! Mourinho knows exactly what he is doing - on another day we'd have put 5/6 past Burnley but that's football!

You're down in 8th place, well off the early season pace. You might have played well against the mighty Burnley but you still didn't win.

In the meantime, Maureen gets sent off, is reported to have confronted the ref at half time, and is facing a possible stadium ban. Then there's his comments about the ref before the Liverpool-Man U game, which he's been charged for. And his reported problems with his living arrangements, and reports of players questioning his training & tactics.

We've seen him crack a few times at other clubs when things aren't going his way.

He spent around £150m (net) in the summer, whilst already having a squad that had had £250m spent on this (net) in the 3 preceding seasons.

If you and other Man U fans think he's doing a good enough job, then great! I hope he stays there for a long time, because to an outsider he's doing a 'distinctly average' job. His methods & tactics are proving to be outdated, and he's too arrogant to change.

I'd watch the games and avoid media speculation. He's not cracking up at all - we're doing well at the moment and headed in the right direction.

The truth is he's done a great job so far - completely changed our style of play to a more attacking system and got us playing as a team. You've been duped by the media about what's going on at Old Trafford at the moment, maybe try a little critical thinking the next time you pick up a copy of the sun.

No - the rest of the world aren't as sensitive and alert as you lot are about any possible reference to a footballing disaster.

Just have to add...United weren't poor against Burnley, far from it. Possibly the best display of attacking football from the team in years. 37 shots and 19 corners says it all. How the ball didn't go in the back of the net is beyond me; a mixture of an inspired keeper, great last ditch defending and wasteful finishing conspired against us. It could/should have been about 8-0 in all honesty.

Compare this to the Van Gaal era where we were lucky to have 3 or 4 shots a game and we've come on leaps and bounds. We sorely miss a clinical striker right now though. Zlatan has missed so many sitters over the past 6 weeks or so. We'd be sitting much higher in the table right now had these sitters been netted!

It doesn't look good for some of the lesser teams when we finally start putting them in the net.
