Tuesday looks a cold day , snow further North, not too sure how much the Beeb will make of it in the CF forecast

So close to a snow event there. Could be quite a bit for the hills but looks like cold rain for most sums up this winter.

Mainly further North , might see a flake fly past but that is about it

To be honest Gooner, I am not too optimistic you will see anything where you are based. I think most of the snow will be north of south yorkshire, unless you live in Ireland. The ECM is the best bet, which has snow much more widely than the GFS, but it seems to be out on its own.

Why do you think I said I might see a flake fly past

A good week (comparatively) coming up for me if the meto is to be believed. No grey murk, no heavy rain, and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures look good too!

Is this the start of something?

Just when there was a slight hint of something more 'seasonal' the Atlantic is back after a brief less unsettled spell later next week.

The whole 3 months of winter without a snowflake here - looks odds on to me.

Absolutely woeful 12Z from the GFS for the South, with heavy rain forecast on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - with some severe Gales along the coast thrown into the mix. Parts of the Thames Valley, not to meantion those communities in the SW and the Severn, could be devestated come this time next week.

Just seen the outputs, it actually made me want to cry. Especially when there could be a repeat performance on Saturday.

Another few more days of waiting and hoping for downgrades awaits us.

Don't do that, you'll make the flooding worse. 😝

Seriously though the unsettled outlook continues unabated for the coming week. More rain, more wind and more hill snow in northern parts. Groundhog Day once again. Any more settled output is still outside the reliable time frame.

Sigh . . . yes, it is true that there has been that trend of things calming down at about that time - let's just hope that light doesn't get snuffed out when we get near to it.

I thought you got a splodge of sleet two Wednesdays back at around 2:30?

Funnily enough we had a little sleetyness in a shower here yesterday as temps fell back to 5 degrees in the showers! Certainly no sign of major cold or anything substantially dry for the foreseeable!

It is truly unbelievable. If this coming week verifies like that there will be some record flooding throughout central, southern, south western and south eastern England - and Wales. Could be the wettest week yet! all with snow in the North and Scotland on Tuesday causing additional disruption. Eyes tuned to the headlines, forecasts, output and EA now.
