Crikey its quite in here considering the decent chance for some/many to see snowfall this weekend! Everyone (nearly) sated by two weeks ago and now desperate for spring? I can only imagine if this was say late Nov 2018 there would be a lot more excitement.

As before - the cold is coming and no point worrying over snow amounts at the this. From an IMBY perspective I'd love a decent fall that lasts for a cold day then I'm done. But is the weather?

Looks like being a brief cold shot before milder air moves in next week.

Most importantly is looking dry or dryer from the weekend onwards up to mid week next week.

The ground is saturated here.

Me too and I doubt that will happy sadly the way things are going but yes looks like a 3 day event and will be largely dry and I for one would welcome some dry weather. We haven't had one sunny day since storm Emma here in the SW.

Crazy to think that during the last easterly - one run created almost 10 pages full of posts and interesting discussion yet this one run 00 and 06z has only brought us a few comments.

Perhaps people are taking a break from watching models which i can understand. After this colder snap i'll probably take a break and be back in November or December but i'll still report in other threads!

Just hope we see these easterlies occur in winter months for winter 18/19.

Just fingers crossed for a sunny and pleasantly warm summer - although it looks unlikely - well esp for Spring which looks very unsettled!

I think people are wiser now. They know there will be two or three very cold days and maybe some snow. But they also realise it is mid-March and it won't last. Little need to dissect the models really till a warm sunny spell is on the horizon.

Me too - doesn't look like much warmth on the horizon and any sun this weekend will be limited - I expect Saturday and Sunday to be over cast and cold with maxes of +4c.

Looks like good agreement then for another (very) short, sharp blast from the East:

Given the synoptic setup ATM, I have a feeling this patteren of mild(ish) then Cold(ish) could continue throughout spring. A shame really, because if this had been the start of winter we could have been looking at a great winter season.

Fingers crossed for some snow to close out the season

Met office warnings out now to compliment the astonishing out of season general model picture.
Jacko might not need his bridge to keep dry though up there. All the main action looks reserved for the south east.

Another cold shot keeping things dry for the west.

Not bad timing really, weve had alot of rain after that recent cold spell, and so walking the dog on the fields has been a bit of a nightmare. a cold dry wind should really help dry the surface out a bit, coupled with a bit of plant growth should mean less need for wellies on grass.

Almost spring now, hurry up.

Always difficult with the UKMO as it only operates every 12 hours but yes looks like the HP is sticking further north in he 12z run than the 00z run.
