Here are the predictions for September. Nobody has gone below average. Good call. The question was how warm it would be. Well the first half has been exceptional - second warmest ever. But the second half looks close to average. But even so we should still see something in the mid 15's at worst.

I take it the graphs in bright red were new all time CET records for those days.

I notice that all of the top 6, including myself have underestimated by quite a large amount this month. So I think the table will look very different by the beginning of October ..........

Thanks GW!  Hope you had a good holiday.

The last week of the month isn't looking as warm now, which is a shame for any records. But I'll settle for mid 15's for my guess.

Current output now suggesting something warmer for next week but only briefly.

My latest calculations suggest we could get close to 16C for September as a whole. Currently the final day of the month is looking easily the coldest of the month. We need the warmer weather to hold on for another day if we want to have a 16.0C month.

Currently I expect the CET to be at 16.06C on the 29th but drop off to 15.90C on the 30th. So we will be very close and if we do see some high temperatures next week then 16C is quite possible.

Yes the table is going to get its biggest shakeup for some time this month. Big changes in the offing.

But it will keep things very interesting. Based on my latest calculations we could find that the top 10 in the table at the end of September are separated by just 0.25C. The top 20 will all be within 1C. To be honest anyone in the top 42 or thereabouts is still in with a reasonable chance of winning with some careful predictions in the final 3 months of the year.

The weather has been superb here this month and from my perspective would be deserving of a finish above 16c. Although it won't do my competition position any good.

The final figure could end up as low as 15.9  There will be a few lucky punters and a tightening of the competition.

Edit - hasn't shifted much in last days.
