Possibly the most ridiculous article I have ever read.
I wonder if the author has ever been north of the border.

Anyway, on a more positive note the same publication has a guide to the Scottish ski centres.

If we get calm/sunny weather in the next few weeks the conditions will be stunning there. 🤤

250-500m has seen transient snow now and again, obviously more frequently the higher you go.

Above 500/600m (significantly lower than 3000ft) they have had loads of snow.  The flat fall depth would be pretty special, but given the wind and the topography, some the drifts and gullies are easily in excess of 20m in depth (although this happens most winters, it is especially widespread this year).

The two pictures at the bottom of the page on the link below give a good idea of depth at Glencoe.

Yes, another 15 to 30 cms fell last night at altitude and more is continuing to fall today. I couldn't open your link so will try to post it anew. Snow fell to lower levels for a time last night in places. My mums in Highland Perthshire had a cover of wet snow this morning at 100 mtrs asl but melted now. The hills are very white now.

This report from Cairngorm on Ski Scotland this morning.

"All runs have amazing amounts of snow. Snow depth upper slopes Average 900 CM Middle slopes Average 500 CM Lower slopes Average 100 CM"

The roof of the hut at the top of the Cairnwell chair at Glenshee is said to be 20 feet under the surface. We just got away from Glenshee in time last night as the snow set in as even the road just to the North of Dundee was closed later.

Thunder snow at my mums in Aberfeldy last night with further reports quite widely in the Area.

Can't post the link just now for some reason but have a look at the pictures on the Winterhighland forum of the lower Coire Cas at mid level. Check the picture dated 11th Feb this year on the Cairngorm snow thread page 24 and compare with picture on page 25 dated 9th May 2006. The upper parts of the mountain have much deeper drifted snow than that. There has been quite a bit of snow since the 11th also.

The picture above if it opens is the west wall chair which is above the coire ciste. The snow to the left as far as you can see is many metres deep over the burn line.

Sorry not having much luck with pasting photos just now. take my word for it or have a look at the source in Winterhighland!

60 ft!!  I'm not sure what to be comparing it against but that sounds phenomenal!   That would take some melting up on Ben Nevis.... Could that be the seed of an emerging Scottish ice pack that heralds the new glacial period?!?!?

Snow there usually melts in the Summer. Late June early July. Possibly good for late July at least this year depending on Spring and Summer weather as there is far more than usual. Snow patches generally throughout the Highlands looking good for longevity and hopefully a large number will make it through to next Winter. Can't recall the exact number (40 / 50 perhaps?) in 1994 is the record to aim for in more recent times and 1951 significantly more going further back.

Edit. 2000 had 41  snow patches surviving so 1994 and 1951 must have had significantly more.

Incidentally if it snowed today on the Nevis range that would be every day since 20th December.

With sub-zero 850s for most the period, the western highlands look like getting a massive extra dumping of snow over the next week or so.... many, many feet of snow in favoured parts!

With all the snow that has fallen and more recently temp thaws, heavy rain and further heavy snowfalls the avalanche risk is increasing.

It seems predictions made 10 years ago about the end of skiing in Scotland due to AGW were a tad premature!

I can't remember when they last had a poor snow season, I reckon it must have been 2005/06
