LOL Positive Weather Solutions are making a joke of certain forecasters who predicted Snow this month (James Madden is one)

Winter Countdown....

As PWS gears up to release its winter 2011/12 forecast, (following September/October's surge of heat), the debate is once again on track with regard to exactly how the season will present itself.

Whilst the 'Big Freeze' merchants seem to have gone very quiet, we await the initial explanations as to why the first opening salvos of their forecasts didn't generate an early whiteout scenario.  Sun not behaving as it should perhaps, or may be behaving as it should but totally misinterpreted as to the effects it may impose of Earth's weather?

Not that I give the forecast much credence but what James Madden stated was heavy snow for some parts of the Uk i"as early as October or November" so your comments are a little bit frankly silly. It is the second of November perhaps wait another 7 or 8 weeks or at very least 3 to 4 before stating the forecast is wrong. It could be totally wrong but as yet it is not!

Firstly can I make it clear, when I joined this forum I did not know their was a Gavin P.

I would have made my name Gavin but that was taken by someone else who joined in 2009 and hasn't made any post's or visited since 02 April 2010.

I then tried Gav but that was also taken by someone else who joined in 2009 and hasn't made any post's or visited since 02 April 2010.

So in the end I had to take Gavin D

Thanks guys.

Well, I've aquired myself an Icon, so hopefully that will help people differentiate myself from Gavin D.

If people still find it confusing I'll have to register a new account.

Don't know about anyone else ... but does anyone think the concept of Octeber/November/December widespread cold are slowly dying out?
My view is for a freezing end to November, a cold January and a Bitterly cold February and a cold March.
Oh and before anyone says something along the lines of 'February snow won't happen anymore', or 'Spring will come early again', those are stupid reasons,
just because the last two Springs arrived early, and therefore February snow didn't happen, doesn't mean it will happen again this year.

February 2010 for here at least was snowier than average and significantly colder than average.

2010 though is actually irrelevant really though to be honest, I was just trying to make the point that just because 2011 had a virtually snowless February and an early Spring, doesn't mean it will happen this Winter as so many forecasters seem to be ruling February snow out purely because it didn't happen last winter, which just seems a bit silly.
