Here in the Scottish Borders, there was a snow shower during tonight which has left us with a light covering here in Hawick.

That is making everything look very much like a nice Christmas card and it is just such a shame that this is all expected to have disappeared by this time tomorrow as a result of milder weather coming in from the SW along with some rain.

Back in Edinburgh, my friends have cancelled a walk up in The Braids, yesterdays melting snow has frozen into a lethal combination underfoot.

No such worries down here in the English Blandlands!

Here in Hawick, we still have our covering of snow from last night.

As was forecast though, it has now started raining here and there is already a slight thaw taking place even though the temperature is only around 1°C as I write.😡

With milder air being forecast to move in, it won't be long now until our lovely snow cover will have completely disappeared.😡

A rogue snow shower moving down from northeast has given a surprise cover here in Aboyne. Focus was on the band of rain further south moving up through the night and potentially turning to snow, but not until well after midnight.
