Looks like a bit of drought relief on Sunday with several hours of frontal rain for most areas.

Can but hope. The MetO automated just has cloud here on Sunday!

That said, there's a reasonable chance of some rain either today or tomorrow...

Looking at the radar the great Hampshire drought ends today in style. 46 days.

Looks promising for here. Bit of an explosion in activity in the Channel

Not much rain here as the moment, most of the activity has rotated around our location. Everything is still very dry.

It did look similar to that here late yesterday but we only had 3mm, cool and misty today though so at least not immediately evaporated and some more expected this evening.

Still nothing here, sun is shining too.
Perhaps some showers later but nothing developed yet.

Got my eye on it.

Has a habit of "fizzling" as it approaches  Kingsclere though  .... like last night

I like your optimism but who knows? Maybe after some stops and starts this historic drought is coming to an end?

Quite a lot of activity in the Channel  off Sussex at the moment but curiously reluctant to move onshore.

I was woken up by torrential rain around 7am here in Guernsey but it was only a brief shower and the band that was heading this way has fragmented. Forecast now shows a largely dry day until tonight.

Still bone dry.

First opportunity of some rain has gone begging as it crosses Folkestone.

There's a nice drought buster from the ECM 00c.

Over the last few days the view from various models has gone from a dry weekend to persistent and steady rain on Sunday for England. Even the BBC, never a forecaster to stick its neck out, has started mentioning it. MetO still holding back, though.

I think that's the one bledur alluded to for this coming Sunday? Bring it on.

It seems that way. Maybe someone's driven a wooden/silver stake into the heart of the zombie summer of heat and repeat highs.

First rainfall over a mm here for two months. Just steady and light with just over a mm so far. Welcome all the same even if nothing like the forecast of a chance of heavy thundery showers and 25C. Just 19 C now having fallen a couple of degrees in the rain. Lovely to feel cool after so long.

It feels lovely. I remember working in the tropics and often dreaming of temps like this today. High humid temps @30C plus/minus with little variation, you sort of get used to. I can appreciate though that it was the air con that made Singapore though I never worked there, the successful modern city that it is today.
