The Met Office in their regional forecasts states maximum temperatures of 30C for Saturday in the East Midlands and North East England. Perhaps tomorrow will be the first day after all, but not down south?

I recorded 29c this afternoon, unofficial but the car also showed 29c.  Has anywhere reached 30c?

I don't think so. We will know in the next hour.

Cheers GW!  If only we had an official station near us.  I reckon we’d have certainly been up there!

I think Robin Hood Airport recorded 27c as well.  We’re in a small valley and retain heat quite well, it’s noticeable when we’re out in the car and the temp changes as we’re driving.  I just wish we had an official station here to prove a point.

By contrast, a relatively fresh but still very pleasant 25C in SE London. We definitely do relative much better in westerlies.

A good day for the CET today with high temps around 2 of the 3 sites.

Met Office now forecasting 30C today for Leeds, bit of a last-minute upgrade considering 28C was the highest being shown before.

Already above 20C here so a very warm day beckons.

28.5c at Pershore yesterday, despite quite a bit of cloud, (a degree more in my garden) so expecting Pershore to hit 30c today.

For the second day in a row the early pace setter is Newquay: 24C at 8.30. One of those west is best warm spells this one, at least to start with. Will end up warmest in the East ahead of the breakdown at the end of next week.

Newquay now 26C (and it’s not a fault, there are plenty of 23s and 24s nearby, even lands end). Up the other end of the country it’s widely 24C along the North Sea coast from Teeside up to Aberdeen. Impressively widespread warmth. London and Kent yet again lagging a bit. It got down to 7C at my vineyard last night.

26/27C across Leeds looking at Wunderground (a few dodgy 28s which can safely be ignored). Even Leeds Bradford Airport at 208m asl is 24C.

Shame there's no official weather station in Leeds anymore as I reckon the city stands a good chance at being the hottest place in the country today. Same with York. Can't see Newquay staying hot for long with a forecast sea breeze limiting the temperature later.

Edit: Met Office now saying 31C in Leeds today, 29C tomorrow.

Interestingly the UKMO model has 30c somewhere in UK for 5 days in a row. Today to Wednesday.
