Yes, run by run the hot weather is being extended into next week. Unfortunately that seems to be at the expense of a very wet breakdown on Friday and next weekend.

Safe to say I was wrong about Liverpool airport not being a hot spot.
Looking likes the westerly drift is not being as influential as first thought.

Could get to 28 here this afternoon which is impressive given the WNW wind direction. Already 26.5C. Stunning day.

Liverpool Airport is an error , it has been 4-5c too warm including nights for a few weeks .

Met Office automated now thinks 31c for Leeds and York today.

I’m currently recording 29.7c in my back garden, albeit an unshielded sensor.  Somewhere has surely hit 30c today!

Hourly figures are 29.8c and 29.7c respectively.  So likely nudged over 30c at some point.

I didn't realise Northern Ireland's all time record was so low only 30.8c set in 76 and 83 . Quite a significant record to fall in a fairly bog standard hot spell.

So, the UK finally gets a temperature of over 30°C, but it is surely very unusual for that highest temperature not to have been recorded anywhere in England, especially in SE England where you would normally expect that to happen.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

So that's the 30c gone. Not where we expected it though, and didn't realize NI had never been above 31c before!

The synoptics look like average summer warm spell so very interesting to see a record broken in N Ireland . Perhaps worrying also.

Complete lack of wind combined with a full day of solar heating. Maybe it's a dodgy station also.

If we get this hot HP cell over us like what happened in W Canada now over here gave NI a new record.  I think 32C had reached in south Ireland before.  Now if this HP stay put like W Canada then here we could go to 40C or over easily.  It show how NI can easily break a record for a place that always cold and wet summer that barely reach over 20C often.

40C here can be done by home grown heat like NI idid today as they managed to hit 31.2C with sea around them and the heat grown instead from the UK which did not reach 31-35C that bring the heat to NI.
