Had first snow pellets and hope to see more of it today
Snow shower in progress. After a sunny morning, it is very cloudy now.
Snow flurries through the afternoon , looking at the radar they are quite widespread
Heavy hail & snow showers coming through but only the hail settled (temporarily) to any extent.
Hopefully today will be the last day this year until November/December that I will be making a snow report.
Yay, first snow (well, snow pellets) that I've seen this cold snap. Little polystyrene balls bobbling all over the place.
After a sunny morning, it is now quite cloudy with a light snow flurry. 6.8 c but -5 c dp.
Snow shower. Temp 6.6C, DP -4C.
Brief soft hail shower in Chichester 1545 - instant melt on the ground
Edit: and again at 1800
A short lived soft hail shower here mixed with rain. A sort of should have been to Specsavers affair that I bet many will class as a 'proper snowstorm' in social media here in this part of Dorset.
Not many people know this but we have a snow sports centre a few minutes away in this part of S Dorset.IMAGE. Is that Warmwell? I skied there as a youngster many years ago.
Quite a few snow showers here today and looks like another heavy one is about to hit - gone very black to the north!
Great stuff! Just goes to show what proper deep cold (thicknesses in the mid 510s) and dry (low DP) air can do.
As I explained to my friends at work, it's like living in a mountainous climate, like the Rockies... quite amazing to experience at pretty much sea level in the UK.
