Bizarre how local snow can be , been out to Peterborough this morning , started as rain , then sleet at Northampton to a very wet snow mix in Peterborough.

On the return journey it was sleet , then snow in Northampton , got to syresham and all the fields were white down the road at Middleton Cheney it was sleet and then into Banbury its snowing well and starting to turn the grass white

Goodness me Marcus!! - that's a long journey? Lockdown gone out the window then or was it an essential journey?

Great analysis anyway so thanks for sharing - just shows how marginal and localised the snow is.

Jiries reporting blizzards earlier - that wasn't forecast in the Met.

Yes very marginal - just looking at the precipitation type on UK Metcheck - most of the snow is Midlands northwards:

Heavy sleet continues here the odd flurry of proper snow then back to sleet.

Sums up this winter here awful  day but a degree colder it would be a winter wonderland.

Despite the radars attempt at humour it's been dry since 10am.

Quite heavy wet snow now at times, obviously we are in the sweet spot when there is zero settling.

Looking at the radar the northern band of precipitation seems to have died out almost entirely.

This front was so much better that last week. Of course as is the law of sod, it was just slightly to warm here.

The last three weekends have been so close to being perfect, but alas not meant to be. Could it be fourth time lucky next week?

Its a bit of a lie of sorts.  The building is very exposed and is also sunken, so fills in with drifting snow daily.  The difference being csirngorm pulled the plug at the start of the season, so its not been getting dug out regularly.

Nice picture all the same.  Some crackers on Facebook from glencoe today where a few locals were out ski touring

Still a very light covering lying out the back garden. No new snow from yesterday night. Been up to Gartly moor a few times over the last month. Most of the heavy rain / sleet we’ve had the last few weeks has fallen as snow up there and stuck. Amazing the difference a half hour drive can do in terms of snow scenery - kids love it. “Proper” Snow line is around 300-350m and has been that way for weeks.

It did briefly stop, but it's now started again with larger flakes. Mesmerising watching horizontal snow blowing around.
