I know what you mean, Jerry. Personally, I wouldn't feel guitly about enjoying certain types of weather even when they can cause problems. We all have our own weather likes and dislikes and, more to the point, none of us has any control over how the weather behaves.
For me, thunderstorms are a bit like snow in the winter. Some people love it, some can't stand it. I can't stand thunderstorms if I'm being honest but this largely stems from being scared out of my wits by one in the summer of 1985 when I was just five years old. I do still like snow though even though I know full well hoe problematic it can be, especially instances such as the Beast from the East in 2018.
