February started off with cold and wintry weather with large parts of the UK seeing some snowfall but things have now turned quieter and less cold. December and January were both milder than average months, so is February set to follow suit?
The TWO monthly forecast went for a colder month and to the 9th February the Hadley Mean Central England Temperature (CET) was -2.3C below the average. In the next few days temperatures will probably remain close to the average so that anomaly is expected to gradually reduce.
Much probably depends on the last third of the month. Current indications suggest there is a chance of colder air returning to bring a sting in the tail of winter, but it's not assured by any means. Other less wintry outcomes look more probable.
