September cold, snow for Scotland, frost for England?

We'll be issuing our autumn long range forecast later this month, and at the beginning of September our White Christmas 2010 forecast will begin updating. We mentioned the chance of August snow in the Alps a few weeks ago, and those of you who keep an eye on the Stelvio Pass web cam will have seen that it snowed very heavily there a few days ago. Closer to home we do think there is a strong possibility of an unusually early cold snap affecting Britain during September bringing the chance of snow to Scotland, and frost to England and Wales.
