The proper cold air arrived just too late for a frost this morning. At 7am it was still cloudy and the cars were just damp. By 8am it had cleared and got noticeably colder but still didn't dip below zero.

First time I have seen the heat pump ice over - which I gather is most likely to occur when the temp is just above freezing as the air is damper.

Sunny fresh day.

Maximum 6C but it hasn't actually felt cold with the winds light.

I suspect a frost will set in fast after dark.

Now for something different. Hours of strobe lightning just off the coast. A beautiful evening, with nothing more than a few big drops of rain. Very gusty winds occasionally. 22c at 11pm.

Today's weather at Norwich as been cloudy and dull this morning with a heavy downpour then sunny spells this afternoon but feeling cold.

Temperature at 5.10pm is 2.9C.

Absolute garbage day with pitiful sleet/rain/snow showers that were few in nature despite being under a warning for snow. No frost either meaning the first week of winter has been frost-free for the first time in five years 👎

Fortunately things have now changed, the proper cold air has arrived and snow is coming down thick and fast with the ground completely covered ❄🌨

-2.2c already, will be strange if, as forecasted, we only get down to -3 tonight.

Evening dog walk and met the neighbouring ladies, none of us wearing a hat, just shows how drier air can feel warmer than a few days ago in the much warmer but foggy conditions...

Currently 1.6 C & 90% H giving 0 C DP and skies are mainly clear so I think I'll finally be getting to see the first frost of the season tonight.

Has been a decent enough day in terms of winter sunshine and a peak of 6.1 C at 11.30 am.
