Calgary Expected a daytime max of -28c tomorrow wow!Meanwhile my cousins in Seattle, Washington State). - Have received up to 10cms of snow today - this was taken this morning 0800 Seattle time and apparently the snow started as sleet around 13:00 on Xmas Day. Apparently SEATTLE is experiencing the longest coldest/snowiest spell in over a decade. Quite rare given Seattle is coastal and the December average is around +5c. Daytime maxes are not expected to climb above -6c tomorrow (27th). So a white Xmas for Seattle and I anticipate Vancouver as well.Photos taken this morning from Seattle - My cousins garden I wanted to share.Also- there is more snow is in the forecast as well.Driveway:Meanwhile on the east coast of USA many places up the eastern Seaboard -DC/BALTIMORE,PHILI and perhaps NYC are still waiting to see their first fall of snow of the winter season.

Never been to the U.S and never wanted to. But if I did, Seattle seems appealing. Looks quintessential suburban England. (Except for the snow)
After almost recording a record high yesterday - Washington DC is now expected to receive 7-8" of snow from tonight into tomorrow!? - None of this was in the forecast yesterday:https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/washington/20006/weather-forecast/327659
I have a friend who lives in New Orleans who said the temperature has dropped by 27 Celsius in 6 days. One of his friends (not sure of location) commented that it was snowing having been 78F (25C) the previous day!
Heavy snow there now , Air Force One was struggling earlier
Yes crazy! Given DC reached a new record high the day before. New Yorker's missed out though.

There’s another at Harvard University, near Boston, that’s also pretty decent.

What's interesting is all the top 5 records are in recent times GW LOL
Just watching CBS news from Boston.....................amazing
Just looking at snow total accumulations here recorded in the NE:Quite a variation even in NYC with central park measuring a total snow depth of 8.3" of snow and the eastern part of NYC over 10" of snow and more into Long island etc:https://abc7ny.com/how-much-snow-nyc-totals-nj/11519720/Must be difficult to measure the accurate level of depth of snow when it's powdery because if it's blowing around off roofs and from the ground surfaces like sand dunes then surely surfaces from sidewalks to cars or other buildings will vary in depth!? I remember when Exeter experienced storm Emma on 1st March 2018 during BFTE - Some surfaces I measured had 6.5" of snow and other had up to or over 8" of snow (all fell and accumulated within 6-8 hours).
Same in Toronto snow storms on 22nd Jan 2005 and some areas have little to no snow ground from the winds and some have drifting.
