More cool and wet rubbish in the models this morning. Out of the frying pan into the dishwasher it seems. It would have been nice to get a happy medium.

Jetstream not back over the UK until Wed 19th and even then inconsistent until returning in force Thu 27th.

GFS - difficult to pick out a patter; the broad area of HP still there to Wed 19th though with UK at its weakest point; LP over Scotland Thu 20th and over S England Mon 24th with a sort of W-ly flow filling in the gaps.

GEFS - for the S temps back down to norm Mon 17th and staying there or a little below, but with plenty of variation around the mean, Significant rain around tomorrow (differs from MetO which has some pusillanimou showers) and again in a week's time, not entirely absent any time. Scotland, similar temp profile but dry until Mon 17th, after which rain is around most of he time.

ECM - brings a trough in off the Atlantic Mon 17th which settles into LP off the SW Sat 22nd with occasional links to LP over Norway.

that is gross. sleeping is impossible in this heat.

You have my sympathies, Downpour.

Even trying to sleep with temps in the mid-high teens is an issue for me. If I was in London at the moment or anywhere else experiencing really high temperatures, I'd be really glad to see some fresher atlantic air move back in. Summer 2018 saw sustained heat for much of June and July but I don't recall it ever being that humid, at least in my neck of the woods.

The night temps in the great summer of 2018 were nothing like this. Last night was horrific - felt like the hottest night I have ever experienced on these shores. Be interesting to see where it ranked in the all time stats for London.

The overnight low here was 19.8C so sadly we've not joined Club Tropicana yet. I've had no problems sleeping but it has been very unpleasant in the house during the afternoons and evenings.
