If the models are true then I think a July CET above 18.0C is pretty much a certainty. High pressure and warmth for pretty much the rest of the month.

Just for fun I plugged in raw GFS values for the impressive 12z run and it estimated a CET of 17.6 to 17.9*C to 27th.

That's after some questionably cool nights and days early next week. A CET-mean minimum near 7*C in mid-July with a maritime flow and 850s above 5*C? Pah!

18c would be a good bet I reckon.  It's certainly looking like another above average month.

This is turning out to be a cracker of a summer and going back to the spring period it has been very warm in this neck of the woods since mid February.

We have have, however, only had one sustained proper hot spell this summer in june. Not complaining though as here sunshine has been abundant with plenty of beach days. The sea is like a warm bath,no chill in the water at all.

If this warm trend can last for the rest of the year I dare say we might get the warmest year on record in the cet area?

My latest calculations suggest the CET stands at 17.29C up to and including today.

Not much movement likely over the next 2 weeks based on current model output. I currently expect a CET of 17.17C by the 27th. Obviously if we do tap into the heat to our south then the figure could be much higher than this.

About 0.5c would be ideal
