I've just returned to Edinburgh after a day trip to Glasgow and there was bright sunshine with only small amounts of cloud both when I left Edinburgh this morning and when I returned home later on.
Even whilst I was in Glasgow, there was still some decent sunshine at times for the first half an hour or so and then for the last couple of hours that I was there.
In between that though, it was generally much cloudier and after threatening to rain for quite a while, there was eventually a much heavier shower of rain (Glasgow wouldn't exactly be the same without the rain after all🤣) although that was thankfully, only brief.
All in all though, I've seen far worse weather conditions than that, so I can't really complain.
There was also a cold wind to begin with, but that has now died away.
As at 4:30pm GMT (16:30 UTC) this afternoon, the temperature was around 9°C here in Edinburgh and despite the fact that this weekend was forecast to be a bit colder than of late, today has actually ended up being slightly warmer here than it was yesterday.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
