Check out Charlie Brooker’s screenwipe lockdown special...fantastic...pure comedy gold...especially being reminded what Boris and Hancock were saying back in late Jan/early Feb

"Teaching unions are working against the interests of children in opposing plans to reopen schools, Lord Blunkett said today.
The former education secretary said that he was “deeply critical” of the approach of teaching unions towards attempts to open schools in England on June 1, for children in reception, year 1 and year 6.
They have advised members to use health and safety legislation to refuse to return to school until the coronavirus infection rate is lower and a test-and-trace system is more sophisticated.
Speaking this morning, Lord Blunkett said that disadvantaged children were suffering most.
“Only one in seven of the most vulnerable children are getting educated. So we have got a vast swathe of youngsters with varying degrees of online teaching — some children getting nothing, some teachers really putting themselves out to make this work and be there for the children,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

They do draw some strange conclusions in the media. On the six o'clock BBC News - A&E departments are widely at 50% of usual demand due to people scared to come into hospital for fear of getting the virus. Have they ever been in an A&E. Try less industrial accidents, playground accidents and road traffic accidents. Also no pubs and clubs open and no sports injuries. These I guess would be at least 80% of the normal admissions.

Daily Telegraph leading with a story that there are only 24 new cases in London a day and that rate will drop to zero by June. Can't help feeling that is a bit unlikely, especially as the official number for today in London was 89 (bound to be some cases where people aren't being tested, eg because they are asymptomatic) Sounds like they are still trying to put pressure on to end the lockdown.
Brilliant as ever but scary just how our parody of Boris and what he has said is true. This footage has to be used in any future enquiry into how we acted early on surely?

Optimism is being peddled freely at the moment but none of it is evidence based. It's just the right wing trying to break the lock down.
I think PhilG, Crewe, Maunder, four, westv, bleur, hickster, Essan and Duane will be in attendance

I'll cut you some slack if it's the former.
Some of the papers tomorrow are utterly reckless, including the Mirror
Telegraph and Express especially peddling fake news.
All of this encourages plebs to go out more which will spread virus
The analogy of coming off antibiotics before completing the course is very apt
Boris is a gambler, and he has always come up trumps in his personal and professional life so far, but this time he is gambling with other peoples' lives.
Do you have some kind of genuine mental impediment

I have no idea why you brought my name up at all, considering I was all for a tougher lockdown from th outset.
Oh and by the way, I'm a key worker who has been working throughout this.
Nothing you say makes any sense.
You've been the one itching to get down the pub!
