Today is Friday the 13th, but today might not be so unlucky as far as our weather is concerned.
During yesterday, there was more in the way of sunshine as the day went on but in the end, a total of just 2.9 hours of sunshine was recorded during yesterday at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
There was the odd splash of rain during yesterday, especially during the latter part of the morning and towards lunchtime, but that only resulted in a total of 0.2 mm of rain being recorded for yesterday in the end at Edinburgh Gogarbank along with 0.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
Just to show how the mornings are drawing in now, the Sun is only just in the process of rising as I write, but that is now taking us into a nice and sunny start to this morning for a change.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank won't be confirmed until the SYNOP data for 7am comes in but across my three local stations, the lowest minimum hourly temperature reading was 9°C as recorded at Edinburgh Airport, so last night was slightly colder than of late but not unduly so.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 6am this morning was around 10°C here in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
