The rain in this part of the world during this morning has been very intermittent without ever really falling with any conviction. The result of this is that a total of 1.8 mm of rain has been recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon along with just 0.6 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
What little rain there was this morning has now already cleared away, and there is now some blue sky around with the Sun even starting to come through at times with the result that a total of half an hour of sunshine has now been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 12 noon.
However, it is very windy here with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to 32.3mph from the SSW as at 12 noon. With those brighter skies though, the temperature has now jumped up to just below 19°C here in Edinburgh and by the end of today, I wouldn't even be surprised if we got up to around 20°C or even 21°C here.
So much then for today going to be the worst day of this week according to the forecasts!!
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
